EPICUS
The purpose of EPICUS Publishing is to publish the artistic works of Kent Dellaire, who has written a new kind of epic poem, what he calls - Justified Meter and Rhyme. What does justified mean? This occurs when all verses line up evenly on the right hand side of a page. The printer usually does this by inserting extra spaces within the lines. However, Mr. Dellaire justifies the lines by choosing the exact word lengths needed to fit the page. It is an original concept and Mr. Dellaire's unique contribution to the long tradition of world poetry. Like Homer, or the Greeks and Romans before him, Mr. Dellaire uses little punctuation, the absence of which
often gives the impression of a fast flowing stream that sounds musical, like a waterfall. Mr. Dellaire likes to write these word games, picture puzzles, or word mosaics, by rhyming every other line of a quatrain. At first, his poetry may seem like prose, but only in so far as he uses the words of common every day language. For some, getting used to it may take a little practice. However, most people should have no problem. The result is a long story usually written in verse that tells about a hero, or event in history - the exact dictionary definition of an epic poem.
